This piece was my first plein air painting! My muse was a beautiful silver maple that stands tall in my neighbor's yard. Said tree has inspired me for the past four years, and is the tree that my leaf collection also came from :) It's not only beautiful and a home to many critters, but it shades our home and porch from that hot afternoon sun in the summers. As Bob Ross would say, "Even an old tree needs a friend." The title of this piece was inspired by the song "Soft Parade" by The Doors.
