If you didn't notice, all of my pieces from the "Twilight Time" series have the sun & the moon in them. I really liked that unless I tell you, you might not know whether each painting is a sunrise or sunset. For a while now I've been obsessed with those small windows between day & night where the world feels balanced.
Each day is full of endings so that there can be beginnings.
Sometimes life adds, sometimes it subtracts.
In taking time to notice the natural cycles all around me, I've began to notice the cycles within myself. People talk about "being mindful and healing yourself" like you snap your fingers, read a self help book then BAM! you're all better.

Maybe that's true for people who grew up lucky enough to never expirence real trauma, but for people who have deep scars from trauma, the healing never stops. It's an every moment of every day process. You heal one wound and another opens up.
You're either considered angry for feeling your feelings, or boring because you're numb. The world tells you to heal but doesn't actually allow you to feel the feelings & let them out in a healthy manner.
So this piece is to the beginnings that come from endings. Sometimes it's necessary, and okay, to tear it all down and start from scratch. Each day when the sun sets, we accept that darkness will unfold, so I think we need to learn to accept the same in ourselves.
